Breaking Bad Luck

Ever experience a run of bad luck?

Sometimes we go through patches in our lives where we experience a run of bad luck. Sure we wake up positive and with a purpose to have a wonderful day…but quickly things start to go south. Bad luck seems to follow us throughout the day as one unfortunate thing happens after another.

Ever had a bad day like this:

It could be that your alarm failed to go off on time, you stumble into the shower only to have the hot water run out half way through washing your hair, your car won’t start and when it finally does you get stuck in traffic, when you get to work your boss has volunteered you to work on an extra project (without any extra pay). After work you get caught in a thunderstorm and get completely drenched trying to get into the grocery store and by the time you get home you’re too tired to notice that you left your windows open and now your carpet and curtains resemble a small waterfall.

Trust me, we’ve ALL had these kinda days…and weeks…and month.

But there are a few things you can do to break the run of bad luck.

1. Define what ‘bad luck’ really means to you. Is it bad luck just because things didn’t go your way? Is it bad luck because what you hoped would happen didn’t? Is it bad luck because you forgot to do something? Is it bad luck because someone else expected something more from you?

Often when bad things happen to us it is because whatever the action was, it was the wrong one for us. When things don’t go our way it is usually because something better is coming soon.

2. Are you being passive-aggressive in your manifestation? Sure you wake up with a positive attitude for a great day ahead, but as you recite your mantra for the day your heart is really not into it and your brain is still foggy from waking up. Without realizing it your brain is receiving negative thoughts like: “I’m so tired. I just want to sleep some more. I really don’t want to have to go to work today. I hate my job. I hate the traffic.”

You can say all the positive mantras you want, but if your entire body and heart and soul are not in agreement then all the Universe is seeing is you being passive-aggressive. How can the Universe supply you with a positive day if it’s not sure that that is what you really want?

3. What is the current cosmic weather forecast? Believe it or not, we are influenced by changes in the cosmos. As human beings we are compromised of atoms of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen = the same elements created when a star explodes into a supernova.

As above, so below. Whatever is happening in the cosmos will have an affect on us. Some people are more susceptible to these influences and will notice the changes; others are only aware that things seem to go wrong only during a certain planetary phase – like during Mercury Retrograde. If you’re having a run of bad luck, look to see what is happening in the cosmos. What planets are retrograde? Was there a solar flare recently? What phase is the moon in?

4. Reevaluate your life. Bad luck always has us wishing that things had turned out better. But what if the bad luck happened so you can create a better life? Bad luck shows us what we don’t want – and by knowing what we don’t want we’ll learn to recognize what we do want.Let’s take your car not starting in the morning as an example: This bit of bad luck is showing you that you’d probably be better off with a better car or, at the very least, that you should be taking better care of your current car with routine maintenance.

5. Protect yourself. Life comes at us fast and hard and if we’re not prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually it can blind-side us with bad luck. Set aside time everyday for mental self-care, exercise your body, and practice mindfulness.

Before you step out of bed, imagine yourself wearing an invisible cloak of protection – and be sure to zip it up before you step outside.

6. Get crystal clear. Crystals contain unique elements and carry their own vibrational frequency that can be quite beneficial to help you avoid experiencing bad luck.

Tiger’s Eye not only will help you stay grounded, but it will also protect you on your travels, and will help you see things from another perspective. Clear Quartz will help you release negative thinking. Garnet will help you make creative lucky decisions. Sugilite is said to protect you from danger. Lapis Lazuli brings good fortune. Rose Quartz will help you love yourself more and give you confidence. Carry a nazar, an eye-shaped amulet to help protect you against jealousy, envy, and bad luck caused by the Evil Eye.

7. Have you been cursed? Being cursed is defined as someone appealing to a supernatural power for harm to come to someone else, that is usually made out of anger or envy. Use your tarot cards or pendulum to determine if a curse has been placed on you.

Protect yourself from future curses by practicing kindness and good magick. The more you conduct ‘bad magick’ (ie cursing others and wishing them ill-will) the easier it is for yourself to become the victim of bad magick and curses. Cast a protection spell on yourself, your family, your pets, your home, your car etc at least once a week.

8. Cleanse your space. Energy can stagnate and ripple out into all areas of life. Routinely cleanse your home, bedroom, car, and even your cubicle or office space too. Such a cleanse can be done with smoke from incense, Palo Santo, or Sage. Or concoct a cleansing spray with water, salt, and vinegar.

Hopefully you’ll be able to turn your bad luck into good luck by following the above suggestions.
