My Ancestral Link To The Salem Witch Trials

Healing Ancestral Trauma

It seems to me that it is every modern witch’s fantasy to be somehow related to the Salem Witch Trials…to have ‘proof’ that they are true hereditary witches.

Healing Ancestral Trauma

It seems to me that it is every modern witch’s fantasy to be somehow related to the Salem Witch Trials…to have ‘proof’ that they are true hereditary witches.

Having been born and raised in South Africa (and now living near Salem, MA), having such a connection was never something that ever crossed my mind.

In fact, I’m usually pretty skeptical when someone claims to be related to these women who died centuries ago who supposedly had powers that really made them victims rather than anything else.
So imagine my surprise when I discovered a possible link in my DNA heritage tree linking me to the Salem Witch Trials!
Oh, wait, it gets better!

Who am I supposedly related to?

None of the condemned witchy women…but to Mary Walcot herself!
Yup, I’m allegedly related to one of the afflicted girls of Salem Village and an accuser of witchcraft in the Salem Witch Trials.

Am I going to run and hide my shame for having such an ancestor?

Nope!
But I do understand now why I like to play the Devil’s Advocate, studied law, be an unbiased mediator, and empower others to be their best witchy selves. I’m living out the Witch Wound in the most modern of ways!
Is it really ironic that today I’m a coach and advocate for witch business owners…when my ancestor was one of the girls responsible for condemning so many innocent people of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials?
Or is it that I’m working on repaying karmic debt in the hopes that no one should ever be condemned again for being witchy?

I’ll be working on healing this ancestral trauma, uncovering more skeletons in my DNA closet, and conducting my own soul retrieval.
